Attention Podcasters!
Did I get your attention?
Good!
Now, take five minutes to sit down and read the following business improvement ideas on how to truly turn your podcasts and news elements into a product that can truly offer you a new way to approach monetizing your hard work.
Did you ever stop to think about how many of your podcasts are not reaching the hearing impaired? If they can’t hear your words, then yes, you are eliminating that market and this can include not onlythe deaf, but it can also include the hard of hearing who may not have the ability to sit and listen to your words over and over. The easiest way to reach out to them is transcribing your podcasts.
What about those who don’t have Internet access? Yes. There are a great deal of them out there and if your podcast is something that needs to be spread to those who don’t have it, then it’s easier to offer a tangible, printable document that informs those individuals of what they are yearning to know. For instance, my grandparents didn’t have Internet access, but the information on health, nutrition and yes, even investments would have been great things that I could have printed and handed over to them to read (and they loved reading) when I found them in my searches.
Are you a podcaster that has a heavy accent? Maybe from Europe, Asia or even a deep USA Southern accent? Again, the accent barrier can always be overcome when your words are transcribed verbatim to either reach an audience who has difficulty understanding what you think is perfectly good English/Spanish or any other language.
Ever wished you could speak in a multiple of languages? Chinese? Russian? French? Transcribing your words actually makes it easier to read those audiences now. There is a multitude of software and services that provide translations into native tongues so that now, you can reach an audience twice the size as if you only just broadcast in English. The idea to give them that luxury of hearing your words is to provide a transcript of that podcast so that they can translate it when they want to, or you can have a service do it for you just adding another option to an interested party.
Monetizing a transcribed production is as easy as finding a transcriber and uploading it to your site with a purchase price. Even providing free downloads of the transcription is an option to give seminar attendees, meeting chairmen and more an opportunity to go back and re-read notes that they may have missed.
Ultimately, transcribing will never go out of style nor will it ever be limited in what it can provide. Consider transcribing soon and ask your transcriber if they have a bulk rate should you have a large quantity of audio.
